Welcome back to a new school year Squirrel Class. I hope you have all had a good break and are ready for lots more exciting learning this term.

Here is an overview of the learning we will be doing this term:

Term 3: Spring term overview

We like to be creative and have lots of fun with our learning.

Term 3:

In English we are reading 'Ocean meets sky' by The Fan Brothers.

In whole class guided reading we are reading 'Flat Stanley' by Jeff Brown.

Here are some photos from our science experiment: 'Which materials are the most reflective?'

Term 2:

In English, we are looking at the picture book 'Lights on Cotton Rock', by David Litchfield. The story is about a girl called Heather who dreams of visiting Outer Space. We are enjoying retelling the story and writing our own stories.

We created our own spaceships, using the story as a stimulus.

If you need to isolate this term all home learning can be found here and on Class Dojo:

Helping your child with their learning:

Every child has been given a Kluwell reading record. We recommend that children share a story with a grown-up 5x per week. If you record every time you read you can fill in the certificates when you reach a milestone in your Kluwell. Don't forget to send a photo to Miss Banks so she can add a sticker to our class chart!

Practice your times tables:

Year 2: 2, 5, 10 and 3 x tables

Year 3: 3, 4, 6 and 8 x tables

Practice telling the time on an analogue clock- get a grown-up or older sibling to test you!
